it is mined from the mines that rises from indo gangetic plain,
it is mined from khewra salt mine. The chemical composition of Himalayan salt includes 95–96 percent sodium chloride, with 2-3 percent polyhalite and small amounts of ten other minerals. Pink color of rock salt is due to the presence of iron oxide in it. It is commonly used in cooking, in place of other table salt, in brine and for bath products such as bath salts.
Blocks of salt are also used as serving dishes and in the preparation of food.
